Hi,

I'm new here and would like some advice!
I use Swissol Ony wax (after using the swissol cleaner).

Now I would like to know what shampoo it's best to use;

a simple shampoo like Meguiar's GC or Sonax or Swissol (Still have it) that are gentel on the wax.
Btw Wich shampoo is best to keep my wax as long as possilbe in best shape?.

Or is it better to use a wash & wax to maintain the the wax and add some wax every time I wash the car. (My mother uses Turtel wax Wash & wax)

I hear so many different stories!

Megs Gold class and NXT are very good shampoos, and Sonax leaves a very glossy finish. All highly recommended as they are all 'wax friendly'

If your serious about maintaining your car then you will want to remove any imperfections in the paintwork, before you add sealants and wax.

I know that, you mean Clay bar i assume?
But my car does'nt need it yet it has only 10K km and has been waxed since beginning.
every 6 month I clean de paint and wax it, every 3 month just wax it.
But I'm not sure about my wash product.
That's why my post!
Any feedback about swissol wash?
And wat Sonax wash are you talking about?

I use Sonax gloss shampoo which is very good shampoo, and as AdyUK says is wax friendly. However to maintain that just waxed look I use Optimum car wax.

It is a spray wax / sealent which you apply after you have washed and dried. Its very easy to use and is plastic safe in terms of it does not stain trim. Just spray on and wipe off.

I use it after every wash as a wax top up, imho it is a very good product which leaves the car looking wet and very shiney.

this is one mistake alot of new car owners make, the next time you go to the supermarket get one of the little bags you put the fruit in and put it in your pocket.
then when your outside put the bag over your hand and stroke your car all over:)
you'll feel all the cr@p thats stuck to your paint which will indicate that it needs claying.
also try this after the next time you wash.

also you'll want to invest in some form of Quik Detailer( QD ), use this after washing to add the gloss back to your wax, this way you dont have to wax after every wash.
the QD that gets the best recommendations is ClearKote QuikShine from www.seriousperformance.co.uk

if your a smoker or know somebody who does, get the film wrapper from a fag packet and slide it over two or three fingers and run that over your paint it's even better than a supermarket bag. you'll be suprised:eek: it feels like some one has droped a ton of grit on ya motor, but you can't feel it once you take the wrapper off,. Never be afriad of clay as long as it's warm and soft, the surface is lubricated you cant do any damage.

First if you want the best from your wax then all contaminents must be removed and you must have as close to flawless paint as you can achieve!

So claying, abrasive polish and glaze are needed. I don't believe one can achieve a flawless finish with a wax or sealant only.

Wash wise, I would go with Gold Class or Soft Wash Gel.

Your choice of wax is ok but if your only concern is longevity then I would look into Klasse and collinite.

You probably have one of the best paints to work with so don't skimp when it comes to choosing your products and make sure all the products are clear coat safe.

I would just stay away from most turtle wax products, for what your wanting to achieve they are not going to cut it.

O.k!

Putting the "Clay" aside, although that is an important step in cleaning and waxing your car, I would use 1z perls shampoo.

Its not easily attainable and has to ordered off the net. However, it is a gentle shampoo, leaves a good shine, and lasts on the paintwork a long time.

Expensive, but its very good. Ask Brazo, I believe he can testify to the quality of this wash shampoo!

JOFS CARNAUBA WASH WAX

For the people who don't like to polish their car all the time but like them shiney.

The only car shampoo, that we are aware of, that actually adds carnauba. Helps eliminate water spots and streaking. Give your auto a little edge when you wash it. Cleans out all other shampoos. Biodegradable. Non-toxic.
