Hi Guys,

Great forum... Keep up the good work!

I've just bought a PC and have ordered some cleaning items from C&S.

I am hoping to attack the car on the weekend and just want to check that I have got everything correct!

My collection consists of:-

A fully working PC
LC 4' pads - (light orange, White and Black)
Megs Quick Detailer & Clay
Megs NTX wash
Megs #83
Megs #80
Megs GC wax
P21s Wax
AG SRP
AG EGP
Microfibres
Megs WW Drying cloth

In the past I have just used SRP and Megs GC Wax (all by hand)..

The car is Dark Blue (ming blue - Audi) and has the usual swirls / light scratches etc. When I have used the SRP previously, the scratches become hidden but they soon come back after a few days/weeks.

My plan is:-

- Wash car with Fairy to remove all previous products
- Clay using the megs quick detailer
- PC using megs #83 on the Light cutting LC pad (orange)
- PC using megs #80 on the polishing LC pad (white)
- Wax by hand using P21s

Does this sound right?

As for using the PC (First time btw), what sort of speeds should I apply the #83 and #80? I was thinking of working up to around speed 5?

I take it that I apply the #83 and #80 using the PC but take it off by hand (Microfibre)?

Also how do I know when I have worked in the products enough using the PC? Should I see dust?

Sorry about all the questions, I just wanna get it right...

Thanks
Rich.

With the pc put a cross or ring of product onto a pad , dab onto bodywork then apply using speed 2-3 once you have an even coat pump up to 5 and work in normally 3 passes up and down and 3 pass across will do . The product should almost disappear (but not dust) work slowly .

Yes remove by hand is the correct way.

Your plan seems ok you might have to do several passes depending on how you get on or you might have to up your pad to a more abrasive one.

You might be better going with a polishing pad and #80 first just to see what happens first and then go to dacp if that does not work .

sorry quick write pretty busy at work but i hope that helps

Sounds good though no actual 'need' for the fairy normal soap will be fine

Thanks Brazo...

If I just do #80 on its own (instead of #83) will I need to apply something else before I put the wax on? As I'm led to believe #80 is used after #83 to get rid of the hazy scratchy surface left behind from #83?

Hope this makes sense?

Cheers

After applying #80 you can go straight to your LSP.
