Hey...

Just after a little help with what to cover up. My engine bay is fairly clean but upon closer inspection it could be better. I'm planning on using P21's, washing it off then 303 to dress it.

2 questions really -

1. should the 303 be sprayed liberally over everything then wiped off?

2. what should be covered in my engine bay pic below? (filter definately)

Thanks

Airfilter and battery are all i normally cover.

Looks like the battery is already covered, so just cover the airfilter.

Yep, battery (not so important in this case), air filter, alternator and keep an eye on any open or incivered electrical plugs, especially at the back of the engine towards the bulk head where you are more likely to find the plugs where the engine and car looms meet, and possibly the ECU is hiding. Don't go mad with water pressure when rinsing off (you only need a trickle of water really, and gently agitate with a brush). Once done, just have a look around spark plugs if they are uncovered, and mop up any puddles of water with some kitchen towel. If in any doubt about connectors, when you are finished carefully unclip them and spray some WD40 or similar in there, or pack with a bit of grease to prevent water ingress). Nothing to be scared of if you are careful.

Last time I cleaned the my engine the warning light came on. It went off after a run around (probably dried off) but it scared me a bit. I'm gonna try Megs QD next time to rinse and not put a hose anywhere near it!
