I think a "proper" UK meet is a must myself - get a decent venue, light, power & water, PC/rotary demos, product discussion/debate etc.

Personally I'd really like Dan & his boys to come along and give us some practical hints from a full-time valeters' viewpoint - appreciate that he runs a business so has commitments and so on, but I'd consider this as bloody good knowledge sharing myself, plus they're way ahead of most us in terms of machine polishing etc.

Car show? let's face it, there's *quite* a few of us here already and it can only get better in the coming weeks, esp with the weather turning ropey - tie in with a meet maybe? We have at least one concours judge here that I know of (sorry mate - stitched you! :D ) and there's plenty of friendly rivalry so how about it?

I can look at a venue locallyish to me but that's no fun for those north of the Watford Gap!

andy , think i might have somewhere we can go but we would need some eazi ups . It has power etc and loads of parking space .. its near ascot but i do think the weather is against at the moment but perhaps we could arrange one for spring so it gives everyone plenty of notice and we could get numbers confirmed..

Yep, a trading post is a good idea so all can try all sorts of products

Online retailers review? Post good or bad experiences of online suppliers? or maybe just a list of online suppliers?

Would be nice to see a sticky somewhere to show newbies what things are and mean, i,e LSP, PC, all the basics really. Just an idea. Took me ages to work out what things meant when i first looked on Autopia or other sites.

There was a little discussion a while ago between some guys on another well known forum and myself about a meet. The idea was that every once in a while there would be a detailing day at our factory unit. We have room for a dozen cars inside, and a dozen more in the car park. If we could get a reasonable number of people in then I'm sure it would be easy to tempt some of the manufacturers to come and give demonstrations.

Our place is a bit of a building site at the moment until we have our new cieling and offices built, but it's certainly something we would consider next year.

Another thing I would like to see is a 'recommended companies' section. This is rather selfish of me, because I get e-mails every day asking if I know of a good company in such-and-such a place. So this section would provide useful information for me, but I'm sure the patrons of this site would find it useful too. After all, things like dashboard repiar, upholstery repair, wheel refurb, dent removal, body shop, are all beyond the abilities of most of us and require professional outside help. It should be done as a review so we can get a feel for the standard of work.

I'd say mainly products, but car related gadgets sound good too. I mean i'm interessted in a sat-nav sort of thing and maybe a radar thing  too.

I'd be up for any sort of meets too, don'treally mind how far i'd have to travel! Dedication for ya! :D

We are in Chelmsford Essex which is a stone's throw off the M25... but it's not like we want a monopoly on it! I'm sure that in time a venue can be found in the midlands and the north too.

How about a chat room facility on the forum? We could then arrange a pre-set time were we could meet up in the chat room and have a good natter.

A meet sounds a great idea. I'm not bothered about traveling. Don't worry about parking spaces with my car, it only takes up half a parking space...:D

Garage section Bill?

Only suggesting that as I've posted regarding new flooring in off topic :)

How about a "show us your detailing gear" section too? Let's see who's the most obsessive person out there :D

Can we have an Accronym thread posted somewhere please?

To quote Chris182:

"I would suggest using something especially for wheels i.e. wheel wax, i think poorboys do one as well, or, something synthetic to withstand the heat.

SRP and EGP, AIO and SG."

As a newbie im confused to buggery lol

Well dependant on how many 'regular' members we have, and depending how far away each one lives, I think a national meet is an idea. My brother was a member of the corsa-c sports club, they organised a national meet in Derby,

I think it was about 200 people turned up, including total vauxhall magazine which got the website owner some free publicity! (and I got my face in the mag too, woohoo!)
