Hi

I wentto machine mart today and bought a yellow box which converts to 110v. Thing is they had loads in there and Idont know if I bought the right one.

I have looked on the PC andcant find any power ratings on it.

The yellow power thingy ma jing says:

Continuous rating: 700VA
Intermittentrating: 1000VA
Input volts: 230
Output volts: 110
Socket outlet 1x16 Amps

Im too afraid to switchit on incase I blow the house up or something.
I still have a receipt incase I need to take it back to get a refund aswell. Its just I wanted to pratice my new stuff I got.

thanks

the pc use 110v which is the standard in Usa unlike here which is 240v hence the need for the transformer

hi

the thing is the price ranged from £40-£130

they areall 110v but had different Continous and intermittent power ratings. Im thinking it depends on the motor size.

You shouldn't have any problems with that transformer by the sounds of it.

A 700kva (continuous) tranny will power a PC with ease. 700kva is roughly the equivalent of 700watts and the PC is just over a 400watt piece of kit.
