After reading Rich's write up on merzerna IP I purchased some and gave it a go.

Car: Impreza 2001 Turbo

:buffer:

Started of with the PC on a 6 1/2 inch Lake Country White polishing pad.
Found this didn't really touch the swirls so went to an Orange LC pad.

Worked the product well in and found it gave a much glossier finish to say SSR2 on the same pad but still left swirls although greatly reduced.

Next stage, 4inch spot pad (orange) and PC upto about 5, worked in small sections at a time (about 6 over the bonnet) and really worked the product until it went transparent. Left a really nice finish which could of just had a LSP straight over it.

The swirls had all but gone but i,m still left with slight light scratches under artificial light, not sure what to use for these, is SSR2.5 more abbrasive than IP?

Before the LSP I put on a 6.5 inch LC white pad and did 2 passes on speed 5 with SSR2 followed up with 6.5 inch LC black finishing pad with
Merzerna finishing glaze.

LSP was Poorboys EXP left for 40 mins and buffed off which was my first go with this product and I was suprised how easy it was to remove. It gave a nice slick finish and I can see myself using this much more.

That little lot took 3 and a bit hours and now I need to do the rest of the car!

I thought i'd take some pics the next day but guess what it bloody rained so I photographed the beading of the above combo - very impressed.
Will get some more pics when i,ve done a few more panels.

Yes takes a while thats why I fancy using something more aggressive on the rest of the car, i'd rather use a 6.5 inch pad but get the same effect.
4 inch pad gave a great result but very time consuming.

I think it may of took longer but it has got a big scoop on the bonnet and a couple of vents so they save a bit of time ;).

Whats your thoughts on SSR2.5 against Merzerna IP

Don't forgot the PC has 6 speed settings... ;)

Crank it up to 6, this makes alot of difference when removing defects, especially with the 4" spot pads.
