Hello all,

I've noticed one or two fine scratches on my alloys recently, and although I have a feeling I may be on to a bit of a loser, I wondered if anybody can suggest anything to help improve these?? To make things slightly trickier, they are clio anthracite alloys. They certainly aren't bad enough to warrant a refurb, but now I know they are there they are going to keep doing my head in!! Anyone able to help, or will I just have to grin and bear it?

you may need to grin and bear it, the paint on 182 alloys is crap imo, you could try some scratch x on them, see if that moves it

^^ As the man say's try some Scratch X, it should shift it if it is a very fine scratch. Use a terry towel for some extra bite.....but take it steady ;)

Like the bodywork paint it seems very soft and they seem to mark easily.

I polish mine with AG Super Resin and seal with Extra Gloss. The Resin seems enough to clean up most marks, but have had to reach from the Scartch X a few times.

do you find that they pit very easily, i.e brake dust attaches itself to it

Mine have been absolutely awful for that... i've used clay and the autoglym stuff and still haven't shifted all of it.

I've also noticed a scratch on one too. Just seem really bad compared to the alloys on my last Clio which would come up perfect from just a normal wash.

Just to let people know the Scratch X did work for me.

Karen - I know Clean and Shiny sell the wheel brightener, there were some samples available on ebay a week or so back. Check out the 'Sample World' links.
