Am I the only one with a drive? if so it'll need to be at mine really.
Lets find a Sunday we can all do and take it from there.
My drive is small (one car only) and there's no cover, but plenty of power sockets, a hose, and a kettle :thumb:

Right then, how about the 11th? that day is fast turning into DW mini meet day, with the Midlands meet and the south coast meet on the same day.
Get Andy's car on the drive, and Matt can give us all some PC tuition :thumb:
*as long as the weather holds out*

that'll be awesome fella's if we can tackle my motor, it was on the to do list this spring ready for summer so getting it done asap would make my day/month/year etc.
It being solid black im sure the results will be pretty impressive.
Sundays are good for me also apart from the 11th tho as im in Austria, looking at my calendar pretty much any other day apart from that one (typical that is) is free....

unfortunately im working on the 25th, i have to work one sunday in the month and thats the one, darn it!!

Andy's not going to be on here until Monday now. But I do know he has no PC experiance, as we have been meaning to get together for ages now and give his Golf a once over.
So if the 25th is out, the 18th is a no go (Mothers day, the wife really would kill me:o ) it looks like it's goning to have to be on April fools day :thumb:

Water on a meter but willing to swap for a full detailing. :thumb:
Will break out my menz and pc if required. No experience yet.

Matt, dont really have many pictures of the cars swirls but think along the lines of this post by cav LINK (http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=15751&highlight=golf) but only about 50% of that really, certainly not as bad.

Yeah I have a PC bit it's seen very little use:o
I had mine parked up in direct sun on Saturday and OMG the marring is a lot worse than I though it was, so mine will need some work aswell.
Is 1st of April ok with everyone?
Cupra-Matt, where are you based? If you can get three cars on your drive it might be a better location than mine, as I can realisticly only get one car on my drive whilst working on it, and there is only room for 2 possibly 3 on the road outside.

yeah i should be able to make it thursday providing i can get all my packing done and dusted (i always leave it till the last minute, shouldnt take long tho, normally just chuck everything in, lol), i'd say between is good 7.30-8.00 for me also.
Matt: we can discuss a suitable time for taking the PTG readings thursday evening also tho afterwork on fridays is good. One question tho, does the car have to be clean before taking readings?

where we meeting in the pub? do we have to wear a red rose in our left lapel like some dodgy blind date scenario. Or we gonna just holla 'detailing mad' every time the door opens just to let us know who we are as I have never met any of you.

Yeah that kinda puts a big GAY slant on it doesnt it?!
I'll be in my 51 plate 307 as in my avatar, Ali will be in a new shape black 55 plate leon.
Im assuming Andy will be in mk3? black golf

LOL I'll be the one with a copy of the times tucked under my arm
There is actually another local car club meet there on Thursday at 8 which could make things a little confusing. But that's a local modding type club so all the cars are jap stuff with body kits etc.
Matt is in his Blue 307
Andy has a black Mk4 Golf (standard as far as I know)
I have a black new shape Leon

ok i should still be able to make it despite the eye ache im getting from the missus about things that need doing before we go on holiday and the lack of time to do them now. Wont be able to stop long tho, i'll get there about 7.30 and will have to leave soon after 8.00 so Ali you'll have to be on time ;) . I'll be driving a standard mk4 golf, just hope we can figure who's who cos drinking alone in a bar just feels weird

Ali, you lucky sod, i just bought a couple of halogens from wickes. got a single 500 watt on a tripod and a small one too. used the tripod one on my updated mondeo defect correction thread.

Hi Matt, I'm not sure what I'm geting yet, until they arrive. A supplier of mine has a set in his garage that he got in for a trade show, and has never used them sinse, said I could have them gratis (well we do spend about £50000 a year with him:thumb: )
I saw that Wikes also have a small 150W halogen lamps in at £9.99. They look quite handy as they are much smaller than the 500W items.
Tom. We'll kep you posted about the next Woodcocks meet :thumb:
Yeah i saw them although i didnt realise they were physically smaller. Theyre dead handy tho mate!

hi guys, newbie here...
Would it be possible for me to tag along on the 1st, to meet some faces and learn how to use the PC? I live in Newark, just down the road from Matt by the sounds of it.. I drive a dark blue Audi A3 (http://photos-913.ak.facebook.com/ip002/v67/106/111/531455234/n531455234_101913_7689.jpg), i love to keep her clean & shiney, however she suffers quite badly from swirling and halogens! I have a PC and some kit, but I'm struggling to get any decent results.
Could I pop along and join you guys for a brew and a lesson on how to operate the PC?
Many thanks.

Yeah Sat 24th is clear for me to so we can arrange for the PTG readings to suit you, tho dont make it too early as i'll probably be up early washing/claying the car in preparation (if i dont manage to get it done quickly on friday afternoon) seeing as the weather let me down this weekend. :(

Yey Halogen arrived today :D Just a single 500W on a tripod, but with a spare bulb. Can't complain for a freebee :thumb:
Right, a workshop is sorted. It's in the middle of Lincoln with power and water. space for about three cars.
As long as the weather holds out we will be fine, because if the weather is bad the workshop will be full of cars, with no space left for us.
This is a working area (that will be open for business on the 1st) and we will need to respect that, therefore we need to limit the number of people coming. I don't want to upset the branch manager with a load of people in and out of his workshop all day.
More details nearer the time.

I had a propper chat with the manager of the workshop last night about what we want to do, and he has a few concerns about people coming in and out of the workshop all day. There is something there that the lads use for cleaning their vans, but I can't remember if it has any fittings on the end.
The tap is very close to the back door though, so probably best to bring along a hose, but only a short one will be needed.
