Just bought some of the above, 6.5" orange & 6.5" white.
Have I got the right pads for use with a PC?
The orange are concave & the foam is quite hard.
The white also concave, much softer, with a hole in the middle.
I was quite shocked at the difference between these & Sonus SFX pads, which are much softer & flat.
According to the Detailers Product Charts, http://www.dano.pocketrubbish.com/detailing/productchart.htm
the Lake Country orange pads have the same cutting index as Sonus white SFX pads, I'm having trouble with this, just looking at them!
The lake country are going to need alot more pressure to make them flat, whilst being a harder foam in the first place. Surely this equals a more aggresive pad?
Thanks for any help,
steve.

Thats the thing mate you don't need to squash these flat
They work on variable contact so will not bog down like a flat pad with the pc

Yep, as Brazo said the Lake Country (got it right this time, Brazo!! :thumb: ) are variable contact so they don't bog down...
I've been using these pads with my PC for a while now, yes they are the correct pads you have. The foam is quite hard, especially on the yellow cutting pad, the orange cutting pad has foam that reminds me of the Tempur (?) mattress in a way, you can push it and it slowly comes back into shape... If you're not keen on the concave nature of the LakeCountry pads but like the foam, then Wolfgang pads (manufactured by LakeCountry for Wolfgang I believe) have the same foam but with flat surfaces.

Yeah they do look odd but when used on a panel they work really well, you won't need to put that much pressure on them (don't try to make them flat) to get very good results.
They are really good for going over panel edges, curved body panels etc. because of the concave in the pad. They do look odd compared to flat pads but they work, may seem odd to look at though.

If you think the 6.5" are odd you should try the 7.5" advanced versions - they have four polishing surfaces, and you can use them flat, on the side and on end. Still getting to grips with them, but once I have I don't think I'll be needing the spot pads much more. :)

Can you use the 7.5" Advanced versions with the PC (with the correct backing plate and counter weight)? I was thinking on giving these a go myself...

But I thing the LC PADs designed to be used by PC are the DA PADs... DA is referred to Dual Action, like PC.
