So, I was admiring the way this car had come out after the detail and thought I would try my luck and enter it into the monthly comp.....
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
With the great weather we have had over the last couple of days I decided to detail a friends motor as he had been pestering me to do it for weeks. It had caked on grime and hadn't been washed properly for about 6-8 weeks and even then I suspect it had only ever been through a car wash during the entirety of it's life since 1994.
Shots before washed.

There was also this small scratch on the rear bumper but it wasn't deep and I knew as soon as I ran my finger over it that I could polish it out.

Washing step:
Rinse down with pressure washer
Applied snow foam through foam gun
Sprayed wheels with Poorboys Spray & Rinse and agitate with wheel brush
---left to soak in for about 5 minutes---
Rinse down again with pressure washer
Washed with two bucket method using ***** Auto Wash (man it smells good!) and a Microfibre Mitt.
Rinsed again with pressure washer
Dried with Sonus Waffle Weave drying towel
Then the paint inspection and it was covered in swirls from head to toe and there was even some hazing on various panels!?!?!

Whole car was then clayed with Meguiars Clay Kit with the majority of the contaminents on the lower half's of the doors (forgot to take pics of the clay process).
Then decided to try my new Sonus Swirl Buster pad and loaded it with Poorboys SSR1 and did about 8-10 passes on 2'x2' section of the bonnet and to my surprise, after buffing off with microfibre towel it hadn't touched the swirls or the hazing...so changed pad to a Lake Country White CCS and tried Poorboys SSR2.5. Same result, didn't touch it????? I thought bloody hell, I'm gonna have fun & games with this!
Changed pad yet again to a SFX-1 4" Spot Pad and broke out the big guns, Menzerna Intensive Polish (PO85RD3.02). Did about 8-10 passes until the Menzerna broke down and the buffed with microfibre.....thank god for that, nice swirl free finish. So carried on PC'ing rest of car with that combo.
Once finished de-swirling it was time to apply a finishing polish and decided to go with Menzerna Final Finish (PO85RD) on a Black Lake Country 6.5" CCS pad. I can't rate Menzerna products enough, they are just the dogs doodah's especially when used with the Lake Country CCS pads.
After the finishing polish was applied it was time for the wax coat and for this I decided on Collinite 476S because this stuff is just amazing as well.
Some shots of the finished product. I really like the 'wet' sun reflection shot on the roof, looks like a sun set on a calm lake, Collinite really is good sh*t!!!.

All in all not a bad job for a freebie and the drinks are on my mate now, he doesn't know at the moment but he will by the time the weekend comes around!!!
