E46 White M3 Engine Bay Help

E46 M3

I want to clean my engine bay. The plastics and the engine are all very clean but the paint it not white. It looks like it has some greasy waxy coating on it. What do you guys use to remove this stuff.

Some megs APC at 4:1 may work?

I'm not sure that they use it still, but it might well be Waxoil, put there to prevent any corrosion. If it is, then white spirit will probably be better as it uses a solvent carrier to get into the nooks before the solvent evaporates and leaves it near solid.

But its there for a reason, so don't scrape it all off!

My BMW engine was covered in a yellowish wax. As previously said its there for a reason. I'd concentrate on detailing the other bits. Bob
