Alright Chuck

I have friends from Markinch but don't know it that well
I hear its just like all the small Fife towns. Hardened and quite poor.
They know how to enjoy theirselves but can be rough.
Unfortuneately this will cover most of the small towns in Scotland/Britian.
They all have their drug problems but this is widespread throughout Britian.
The problem with Fife is that there is no real industry. Unlike Aberdeen which has the oil and Edinburgh which has the finintial industry.

Hope this helps, don't let it put you off but just to make you aware

Glenrothes has a bad reputation at the moment and is not really a place i would be interested in moving too.

As you get further up the coast it is lovely Elie , Crail, Lundon Links Anstruther all nice places if you want a coastal thing going on.Dalgety Bay is lovely too and close to everywhere but again quite expensive.

Fife is filling with people moving from Edinburgh pushing the prices up as they will pay more as anything seems a bargain to them compared to Edinburgh prices

Any reason for Burntisland ? If you want a list of estate agents from Dunfermline area i can send you some links

The iron ore from the factory always used to make the road orange, guess thats changed since the houses have been built on the site

Good luck with the offer - Remember 10-15% above the asking price is norm up here but the smaller flats and houses are starting to get upto 20% more as they are in demand
