Paint Brush, no mess just pour product into a small aerosol cap (one without a small hole in) and use the correct width brush for your tyres.
Applicators seem to soak up the product and get very messy

Wipe off excess water after washing and apply while tyres are still damp using an applicator pad. Leave it on for about 30-45 mins. Then wipe off excess and apply again and leave for same time. Works a treat, leave on for a shiny finish or wipe off excess for a more matt finish at final stage. Lasts for ages.

Have never tried it damp (oo-er!) does it work better?

Works a treat for me, tip from John so I can't claim credit for that one. Not sure if it works any better but possibly stops rubber drying out maybe I am not sure of the reason but it works. Could also be that a wet or damp tyre has a more even colour to it or it just adheres better to it or just save time and effort drying the whole tyre. Wet dry and damp might give a different finish. Give it a try Brazo and let us know what you think.
How do you use it?

Wait till tyres dry and brush it on, leave it n for an hour and then wipe off. Won't be so concerned about drying the tyre in future though!

Paintbrush for me too - gets into all the nooks & crannies better than an applicator. I cut the bristles down a bit to make it stiffer.

Thanks guys for the information. Looks like I will be using a paint brush or app pad

As Daffy says , usually apply to damp tyres (wipe excess water away) with a old sponge (Knew there would be a use for it one day ) cut to the tyre size aply product to sponge quick wipe around and done .
