Gaz, if you look on the Krispy Kreme website, you can get them at a discount, so you can sell them at normal price to raise money for charity.

It's quite a way from me but if this is happening on the 22nd July I'd like to try and join you if nobody minds. Just about to get a UDM or PC so would like to see someone using one for real - or get some coaching myself?

Would love to see that car collection as well..... :D

Not sure what's happening at the moment as young Gaz who was trying to organise it can't make the 22nd.
I can and would still do it, but as it's Gaz's idea, I'll await for him to return with a date that he can do and one which doesn't clash with any car shows that I've got penned in to my diary!!

Gaz W
21-06-2007, 05:50 PM

You're not the only one and it's my place that it's supposed to be held at!

I left Gaz to sort it out as it was his idea but then he sent me a PM to say he was 99.9% sure that he couldn't do the 22nd.
We decided that it would be put off till September as I've got too many shows to attend in August, anf the next I heard that it was back on was after Gaz added a reply on here, rather than sending me a pm to see if I hadn't made any plans and was still free that weekend!

Since then, I have actually got other plans for that weekend. I don't get much time off between running a detailing and valeting and a Transport Company as well as the odd classic car dealings so my time is rather precious I'm afraid.

Gaz, can you drop us a pm and I'll talk to you later about setting a proper date in stone which I can firmly pencil in.

Why is it that all the Birmingham meets seem to fall through ???

Wozza
03-07-2007, 05:14 PM
Copied from other thread:

Coxy (and Gaz) why not put up a vote to see which suits the most people, 22nd July or later in the year and see want response you get.
You have nice place Coxy so it would be good if we could make this a really big meet, it would be a shame to rush to organise it now for the 22nd if not many people can make it.

OK, the date for the Midlands Meets is going to be
Sunday 16th September 2007

Unfortunately, that is the only free weekend I have between now and October so it makes having a poll pretty easy!!!

The location is:
Coxy's unit,
Calibre Ind Park,
Laches Close,
Four Ashes,
Wolverhampton,
WV10 7DZ

It's about 3 minutes from J12 M6.
It's just off the A449 halfway between Wolverhampton and Stafford.

It will kick off from 09:30 and go on till 16:00.

I will also be inviting some members from my car club as well as some Audi owners from the S2 forum, so there should be a good variety of cars there.
We have space to detail a few cars on the inside (providing I don't buy toomany between now and then!!) and cleaning/jetwashing facilities for more on the outside.
There is ample parking as none of the other units are open on the Sunday so if we need to overspill, we can.
There is a child friendly pub about 1 minute away which does some good Sunday food and also has a big car park for those who don't want to spend 7 hours watching paint been corrected!!!

I will donate the use of my unit, water, electricity, free of charge. (including a couple of PC's and a Rotary)

I do have a very large selection of valeting/detailing products "in house" but please remember, I have to make a living as well and I ain't really a millionaire like some people think!! So small donations to cover the cost of products used would be acceptable!:thumb:
Even better if people want to bring their own!!

We have toilets (inc disabled), also, tea, coffee, microwave, cooker etc etc so if anyone wants to volunteer to be Delia for a day, then please feel free!

See you there!!

please could you add your names down here if you want to come.

Traders such as Autobrite, you are more than welcome to come down and join us and sell your products as well.

It is......

Not sure if Gaz has notified any one of this, but having spoken to him last week, we have pencilled in Saturday Sept 1st for a mini meet up at my place in Wolverhampton. He has suggested 10 till 2 or thereabouts. I know he is on holiday, so I am just putting this up to keep you aware. I dont want to conflict this with anyone else that he has made arrangements with, so if there is any problem, or any more info you need, please post or PM me.

I have a guy in the next door unit to me who has his Jag XKR detailed once a month, and he has said that he will get involved as well.

Also, we will have a tint demo going on, as well as PPF, so there is a bit of other stuff for you to see.

Just to reiterate, this meet is on for the 16th September.

Eddie (Racefilm) popped down to my unit for a chat today and I'm more than happy for him to show off his products on the detailing day and have no problem for Autobrite to be there as well offering their products. Both of these traders have something that they can offer and neither of them are in direct competition with me!!!!!!!!!!!

So as not to get confused, this has nothing to do with any HotWaxxx lesson in love and pc meet or Gaz Detail My Ride day, or Midlands mini meet or Krispy Kreme meet, this is the Birmingham Meet.

So, if you are talking about the Hotwaxxx vs Gaz meet, please find the appropriate thread and post accordingly!:p :D

Gaz W

So, who's getting the Krispy Kremes on the 16th? ;)

racefilm
09-08-2007, 10:38 AM
Guys, too many things going on here, so I'm making the decision because I can, and the final decision on anything will be made by me. It's my place.

Gaz will be the event co-ordinator, because I said he could, so if it goes wrong, you all chase him.

Right. This is what is going to happen.

The gig on Saturday, September 1st is called:
Rock up at Racefilm

Start at 10.00 a.m until 2.00p.m.

Address is:
Racefilm,
Unit 9,
The Hollies,
Graiseley Row,
Wolverhampton,
West Mids.
WV2 4HE

All are welcome.

Again, it is down to Gaz to arrange demo's etc, but this event can be a regular thing if it is well supported, and it doesn't turn into a farce because of no one really knowing what the hell is going on.

I have spoken to Coxy about this, he agrees with me, so let us all make these 2 events (Coxy's on Sept 16th) a success.

Over to you.

Eddie

Hi people.

So if I am correct Gaz/Hotwaxxx2007 is now called Racefilm on 1st September 2007. FAO Racefilm - I assume Gaz contacted you about this and you agreed to us using your premises for the 10.00am to 2.00pm PC7424 demos?

Cheers - Hotwaxxx2007

Correct. I have arranged this with Gaz.

I am just trying to put a bit of clarity on this.
I do not not want to hijack this meet for my own ends, just trying to get everyone singing from the same page. I am NOT a detailer, that is your job, but I can drum up business for those that are.

I have put my unit at your disposal for the meet, and as it is the Racefilm premises, it might as well be called Rock up at Racefilm.

Beginning to wonder if I have bitten off more than I can chew here, but the doors will be open on Sept 1st.

The rest is up to you.

Guys, I need an idea if this meet in Wolverhampton is going to DEFINITELY happen on Sept 1st.

Everything has gone quiet, and I am looking to go on holiday around that time, or thereabouts.

Let me know some idea of what is happening, as I am going to be seriously pissed off if I make arrangements around this date and it turns out to be a wrong 'un. If it needs to re arranged, fine, but I NEED TO KNOW!!

It will be the first and last time this happens, so give me a clue to what is going on. Gaz in particular!

Gaz,
I ain't been funny fella, but all the lists on here relate to a meet being held on Sunday the 16th of September at my unit. Can you please start a new fookin thread cos I'm getting a bit pissed off with this now. Sorry to rant but I'm a busy man, detailing cars is part of my busines but for the most of it, I run a busy Transport Company and my weekend times are precious so when I set aside some of my free time, I plan it in advance as I don't get a great deal.

Any more cross threads and you replying I'll pull the plug on the bloody thing cos this has already been rearranged after you couldn't do the first date.

No need for this to be locked, just delete the crap that you've posted before reading the actual thread.
I hope you take more time over doing a car than you do at reading threads.
Wouldn't be so bad, but this ain't the first or even second time on this thread.
I'm beginning to fell like pulling the plug on the whole lot to be honest.
And I'm sure Eddie at Racefilm will probably be feeling the same.

You're asking £10 a head for people to come to the one on the 1st, yet you haven't even spoke to Eddie about this and yet you are using his unit free of charge??? A bit of common courtesy would be to actually ask the person who's been good enough to offer his unit for the day if it would be ok to charge, which to be honest is a bit of a cheek if you ask me.
I'm not charging for the use of my unit, and my overheads are far greater. if I charged £10 a head, I'd not be expecting many through the doors or if they did, they'd all be getting a full english, endless cups of tea and biscuits and a goody bag to go home with.
A lot of people defend you on here, and commend you for acting rather grown up for a 13 y/old but quite frankly, this whole escapade has shown me and a few others a different side.
Why is Hotwaxxx asking £10 a head to teach people how to suck eggs when he can't even use a rotary???????????

I give up.:wall:

Cost is nothing to do with me. I have simply sorted out the venue (Big thanks to Racefilm) and am going along to help out. The cost is nothing to do with me, i'm not shoving the blame onto hotwaxx! But it wasn't my idea. Personally I think the cost is a little OTT.

Hi all.

Firstly, I must defend Gaz and say he DID NOT say anything about charging people £10. That was solely my idea and I was the only one that said it as far as I can see. He may have added it to further posts that he posted but that was my perogative entirely.

Secondly, the cost was initially set up in which I was hoping to get £150 from 15 people's attendance. I asked for 20 people as I knew there would be dropouts. I was planning to pay £50 to Racefilm (even though he kindly said the unit was available for free), £50 to Gaz for his time (5 hours in which he could be doing something else) and £50 for myself (as I am devoting 5 hours plus I am using polishes/waxes/sealants/glazes/shampoos which do, believe it or not, cost money. And since there had been a lot of interest in the workshop (15 people already putting their name down) it seems they were not too concerned about forking out £10 for a demonstration and hands-on-action with a little guidance with the PC7424.

Thirdly, this meet will go ahead. I have PMd Racefilm to explain and if he does not want us to use his premises (which I entirely understand) I will hold the meet at my house/garage.

Cheers - Hotwaxxx:thumb:

Oh and fourthly, I am not great at using a rotary as Coxy has already said but this was a PC7424 workshop and I have been using the PC7424 for almost three years and have detailed over 60 cars with the thing so I do know what I am talking about concerning that certain piece of machinery.

Gaz kindly offered to do a quick rotary demo (no more than 20-30 minutes) just to show the difference between the two machines. This is not meant as a rotary workshop.

Hope that clears things up.
