Saturday 11th of August - 1:30pm - in South Northumberland

House is about ten minutes past the Newcastle Upon Tyne turnoff the A1, less than 5 mins away from the A1. Plenty space, enough to do 3 or 4 cars in a row, and I'll see if I can get mum to make some tea and coffee! I may need to reconsider location if lots of people sign up as although it's semi rural, and there is a lot of space, there's farm vehicles needing access past their house, so we can't have too many cars.

Pop your name down if you're coming and nearer the time, I'll PM you the address. :thumb:

Bugger....

I'm may be down the parents that weekend as the missus has a training course in coventry so killing two birds with one stone.

I'll know more the day before which maybe a bit too late but i'll keep an eye on the thread.

I'll bring biscuits ;)

MrsP is at work that day hence the date. A rare occurrence I have free reign on a weekend!

Yup, I should be free that day.
2 sugars, dead milky :thumb: (name the film?)

I'll bring choccie caramel digestives, and possibly my brother in law, although we will travel in my car to minimise parking problems.

It would be nice to have a few more people there than the last NE meet :)
Im hoping that we get a few more, and also that you and Dave KG can join DrP in showing us beginners the ropes

Edit: Just realised Dave KG will be in the US of A, which is a bit of a commute

Sounds cool - and Graham - it'll be Richie showing peeps - not me (if he's willing!)

madmoggy
01-08-2007, 10:06 PM
best we hope that his car is running then, or it'll turn into a coffee morning ;)

Wonderdetail
01-08-2007, 10:13 PM
Don't get me wrong - I'm happy to demo etc, I was just stating that Richie is far more experienced than me! If he's not there, I'll happily take the place. In fact, I've re-booked a car for that day (weather wrecked todays efforts) that's in a bad way!

I will be there with my Corrado which needs some expert detail advising.

Add to the list if you can confirm you are coming. I believe the below is correct:

1) drpellypo

Wandy
08-08-2007, 08:12 PM
Yep, my name is on the list anyway, but I will definitely be there. Just wondering Paul, I also have just bought a Tornado Red VW Jetta GTi...lovely car and the paintwork is exceptional for a 16 year old motor...but I think a professional detail would REALLY bring that colour out. Would I be able to bring that car too or could you just give me a price for for a full treatment on this car here on this forum?

Wonderdetail
08-08-2007, 08:20 PM
OK, chaps. Easiest way to do this!

If you are coming, please PM me requesting the address and I'll reply with details etc.

Ta!

Really have to apologise to you guys for the no show today. i broke the window on my missus car this morning cleaning them. the window regulator broken. Its taken me 3 hours so far to strip the panel down.

Think I'm gonna just buy the replacement rather than the the rails themselves.

Really sorry and I hope I missed a good one.

HI mate - no worries! I'm sure Graham will be along later telling you what you missed ;)
Lots of Choccie biccies, thats what he missed. Oh yeah, and some people messing with a pc and a rather battle-weary Mazda :D

Big thanks to DrP for organising and thanks to DrP's mum for letting us loose on her car, nice to meet Andy (even if I did get your name wrong when I got there :o ) Nice car, will look great when its been done, looking forward to seeing the other car next time :thumb:
My first go with a pc, I managed not to break anything or burn through, but I think I need a lot more practice before I try it on my A4. Thanks for the guidance and answers for all the questions, and the chance to try it for real.
I really enjoyed today, it would be nice to see more people coming along to the next one.

Wandy
12-08-2007, 05:22 PM
Yeah many thanks to Paul for his hospitality, help and advice. Nice to meet Graham too...and scoff on the biccies, heheh.

It's a pity those damn scratches didn't come out (I just had a feeling that would be the case) of the Corrado but at least I got to see up close what could be achieved with a PC. The transformation of the Mazda was remarkable. I can definitely see me asking Santa for one of those this Christmas. :thumb:

I think I will concentrate on getting my Jetta GTi detailed first then focus on the Corrado.

Look forward to hooking up with more members at the next meet. Cheers.

Was a funny one with the Corrado Andy. As I said, it looks like a failure under the clearcoat. On reflection, I wonder if it was caused by moisture buildup when the cover was resting on the top of the car. There's a good chance this, magnified by the sun, could have caused the reaction.

You've got a nice beading, shiny, and swirl free b pillar now though! ;)

Wandy
16-08-2007, 04:59 PM
Yep, it was frustrating but worth a try anyway Paul. I'll be in touch soon about the Jetta. Cheers.

I'm eager to meet up with you chaps as time is ticking on and the 240v UDM is soon to be released and I seriously need to know if machine polishing is something i can do. (baked bean can hands - ie a bit clumbsy).

I can offer a driveway water and a plug socket ;) parking for about 4 cars about ...

I wouldn't worry fella - you're not likely to see the UK UDM until October, very earliest!

Right, chaps, I'm fully booked up for the next 4 weeks! But.. I've possibly got a Sunday afternoon early on next month available. Will double check with head office (MrsP, in case that wasn't obvious) for permission, then get a post up. Absolutely need more numbers this time though, cos people are going to think me and madmoggy are having an affair!

madmoggy
28-08-2007, 01:21 PM
I tell my missus Im off to see my girlfriend when we have meets. I get less grief for that than if I said I was abandoning her for a meeting with a bunch of blokes to polish cars :)
Sunday afternoon should be good for me, just let me know which one.
