Shine On

This car was a recommendation from someone who'd seen my work and suggested to a colleague his car would benefit from my services. The guy had never heard of detailing but sitll rang me and just wanted to hear his car would look bling at the end. Top bloke indeed!
Looking somewhat used and abused upon arrival, it looked as though someone has had a go at it in the past, with holograms and severe marring clearly visible. All these were taken before I'd touched it with anything, a lot looks like an aggresive clay had been used without enough lube.

Straight on with the task in hand, I foamed the car to help soften the dirt and once most of the foam had slid off I rinsed and repeated. The car was then washed with TBM. Wheels (not real split rims, replicas I later found out) were soaked with APC from a foam head sprayer because I wasn't keen on using Megs WB on a polished rim or what I thought was a split rim wheel, before being washed carefully. Thoroughly clayed with Sonus Grey. Used a whole bar and threw it away, it was minging by the end! Washed again, rinsed and dried, then taped up.
After some playing, settled on Menz IP 3.02 on a polishing pad using the rotary. I tried to get a 50/50 on the boot lid in the sun but at that time of day the cloud was moving quickly over the sun making it hard to get a decent clear photo, and I didn't have time to stand and wait for it, so I cracked on. Got this with the Brinkmann though:

Happy with this, I moved on around the car:

The bumpers had some really bad staining from something being splashed up them. I couldn't safely get rid of it all, but I did make a big improvement:

On the offside there were a number of scratches the owner wanted improving, one in particular was really angry!

Correction done, protection & bling were the agreed objectives. Chemical Guys EZ Creme Glaze was applied first, followed by two layers of Jetseal. This was followed finally with a coat of Collinite 476s.
Glass cleaned, trim and tyres dressed with CG New Look Trim Gel, wheels covered (earlier on) in CG Wheel Guard which was now buffed off.
The finished results, for which the customer was really pleased. Another detailing convert!
