I’ve just bought a nice metal tax disc holder (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/BMW-Mini-One-Cooper-Classic-Twist-Off-Tax-Disc-Holder_W0QQitemZ8059580438QQcategoryZ72231QQcmdZVi ewItem), but made a complete hash of fitting it. Does anyone know where I can get some of the little transparent fixing dots?

{Later} Discovered they are called "3M invisible fixing pads", but can't find any stockists.

You'll find those eBay ones aren't as good as the proper 3M versions. The 3M ones dry clear so they're virtually invisible on the window, eBay ones dy opaque. The eBay ones also go yellow in the sun. Halfords sell the Richbrook tax disc holders and often do the replacement 3M pads in little Richbrook boxes too.

Richbrook spare kit can be bought here (http://www.autobulbsdirect.co.uk/product.php?productid=16631)

And good luck when you come to change the tax disc. I had two. Samantha had one in her smart and I had a normal one in mine (hers had smart written on the back)

She had no problem with hers, girly hands and all that. Mine got chucked after I managed to lose a bleeding screw down the dashboard and then couldn't get the disc back in.

They are a nice item, I just lost my rag changing the tax disc...:(

I noticed from Mini_Nigels link he had opted for the twist off version which is a masive improvement over the fiddly screw one!

I sold my car to my mate an he inherited the screw-fitting tax disc - ha! :)

Opps. Didn't fully read the ebay bit. Ahh, he made the right choice then.

The ones I bought (here (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=8060056407)) were 3M "VHB", which comes in roll format as standard, then die-cut into pads by a third-party.

3M don't actually make these sticky pads at all.
