I have a UDM with the 6" backing plate to use with my SONUS SFX pads, but i have some SONUS SPOT pads but cannot find out if there is a suitable 4" backing plate. Surely its not a system that only uses 6" gear?????

Is the bell housing larger than the pads in this case?

Just thinking about the need for a UDM Guard from SCD to stop metal on plastic for the intricate edges

so just to double double check that link is for a backing palte that you use and fits to a USA import UDM for 4" spot pads.

I have been told by Cleanand Shiny that the UDM is counter balanced for 5"....blah blah blah. all greek to me.

ive just ordered a UDM from autopia plus 4" pads and a 3.5" backnig plate.

I ve seen previously talk of counterweights, is robertt right there about needing to change the counterweight for 4" pads? If so, where can I buy the counterweight?

I dont think you need one for the UDM and havent used one. I didnt get one after reading here that the standard one was OK, and I certainly havent had any issues with staying with the standard weight for 4" or 6" pads.

I never bother changing the counterweight.
