I hope there is a way to KEEP this thread in a permanent place. When I have a bad day and need to escape for a while, I go to Monaco. When I want to dream a little, I go to Monaco. This thread is my own private [ok, not so private] portal to a world that I may or may not get to see in person. It's taken on a life of it's own and we all live vicariously through it, to some small degree. Thanks again. :)

Now its been made a sticky thread i would like to thank everyone who views it & comments on my work or the pictures in general i post, its always a pleasure to post on it so you can see what life is like out here & the some of the work i have through my doors.

the scratch on the door??

all i used was water in a spray & cleaner professional by SW, you need a good eye & make sure you use plenty of water in the spray gun to keep the paint cool & machine away (only if you have exp!) ive been doing this for years! keep measuring the depth just for your own safety.

i cant help it if Nigel misses his detailer!! :lol: i used to love doing his cars, i rmember the first one i did was the grey 550 Maranello years ago then the rest followed!

if i could i would love to get my hands on 90% of the cars in this thread as some are soooooooooo not looked after at all, today i touched & felt the paint on a DTM merc CLK it was as rough as old boots!! :doublesho

On Saturday I went to my local BMW garage. They had a brand new 08 M3 sat in the showroom. Looked stunning. Finished Met black....

It wasn't until I looked at the front wing from 10 yards away that you could see bloody swirl marks :doublesho

I pulled up the valeter and mentioned it to him. He looked a little surprised.
Not a very good impression when someone's about to spend 50k + on a swirled car...

great updates lately darren.

few things to talk about.

is that 430 scud outside the casino yet another one to the mc registry. looks like a different plate.

and just how rare is that 997 rs in white with no lettering i heard that to have it in white its a 5000 euro option. how ridiculous.

and is that a uk registered one in white aswell.

some rare cars in that under ground garage. were abouts is it.



here is a pic from the GP last year i took in a fontvielle UG car park.
i know pulling the cover of was cheeky and well quite rude and if someone had done it to my mc12 i would have been :censored: off. what i did was CRIMINAL in monaco with the level of security but the excitement got to me and i had to have a closer look.

i read it lives in MC got a fair few pics of it in monaco from all times of the last year. only one in the world in this colour.

and as for the condition WELL! it had never seen a detail in its life swirls everywere. disguisting

Hey!!

i know where that is that mc12 i was about to go get some snaps of cars in that garage today but the security stopped me!!

The garage in Q where some of em are has 15 levels but is 100% private but the door is broken so i snooped in! its near the port but there is also a top entrance near the HSBC bank.

the 997 turbo is uk reg not the RS, ive seen it b4 round ere.

The MC12 belongs to a swiss guy as per n° plate reg in Geneva.

The other day i collected a car from a private car park and saw this so i decided to take some piccys today! the car its self has not moved or been started since 1992!! im am now trying to trace the owner i know at the moment he is Italian but the rest is going to be hard to find out! the car has just over 27.000km a few things have been stolen like the center of the straring wheel the bonnet has had some damage to it from someone looking inside it years age but im sure that could be fixed or a new panal painted up.

Its such a shame to see this car like this! check out some of the dates in the dust there is one in the roof for 1999!

NO!! i hate deep water you can do that if you like! swimming after 16 years!! im sure a few yacht props will have cut him up!

Ferrari wise i now have the chassis number so will be looking at tracing the owner (if he/she is still alive) if not im going to try everything to get that car!

Thats what will make it hard G as if the owner has any decendents etc the car belongs to them unless its a bent car, what i mean by that is there was alot of money laundering ere back then but you cant do that any more they just bang you up!

It's probably just a toy that no longer amused the owner and he left it in the car park with an authorization for the garage owner to tap a bank account monthly for the storage fees. Even here in the middle of nowwhere USA, that dusty little jewel would have been GONE after about six months.

i have started today to make inquires in to who owns it, i have spoken to a very well known & independant ferrari specialist here about the cost & the things that could be wrong with it because its been sat there so long & it does not have a good outlook, the turbo & engine will need a compleate strip down as will the gearbox for that your looking at 20.000€ & to top it off parts for this car cost a fortune as i have also found out this car was made purly for the italian market only so parts are rare for it!

Ive been to see if the books are in the car but they are missing which is a shame as thats its life b4 the 16 years of storage!


i will keep you all updated how i get on!

I have now found out the day it was registerd & where, it was registered on the 27/07/1987 i have also found out who the original seller was!!

its taking ages to find out the info i only found this out by breaking down the chassis number!

at the moment as much as i would love to its not yet in my hands so im not touching it in that way,

i would not say its a gonner yet we will see, i still have some more work to do in respect of tracing the owner (if he is alive still) i would love to restore it as it will make a beautiful car after, thats if of course it does not cost the earth, & i would rather walk away that spend 30.000€ on it.

yes your right in some ways, i know of several cars that have not moved in a couple of years but this is n exception as its been there 16! the problem is that the car is parked in a private garage & the concierge does not know whos it is as its been there before he worked there!

some building owners just rent out the space for parking etc or the appt owners do the same, so as long as the money is there when its due they aint bothered, but for the car to be sat there 16 years you would have thought the building owner would have had it removed.

The grip of the 4wd is incredible but I would prefer the rear wheel drive. I had a little go when he first had it on a short stretch from Avening to Tetbury.

Turbo lag evident as the first half second the turbo spools up then 3 sec later your at 60! From say 30-70 and on its amazing thing.

Still stuff of dreams for me on the "otherside" of the family:lol:

Will be investigating the Ferrari some more this week.

Its always been a passion for me detailing 'flash' hence why ive done it for 12 years, the only thing i miss is the Helicopter & private jet side (old business in uk which my brother runs now) that does just give you a buzz!! i do a few normal cars like a couple of Mercs & VW's as well.

if you ever came here it is full of people taking piccys of the cars so to them im just another tourist, as long as you dont go touching the cars etc they dont mind!

ive just found out im off to the Le mans classic so will be def taking the camera there!

percentage wise G about 80% the majority of people here just have the car just washed & leathered then vac, they clean the windows ere with paper towel!....... oh & when i mean wash a leather what i forgot to add was ROLLER WASH & leather!! ive seen phantoms, ferraris even lambos going through!!:doublesho :doublesho :doublesho

D that's quite a lot. I didn't expect that at all. You'd think people with all those expensive cars would have a better way of looking after them than dragging them through a roller wash. I guess they like spending more time posing their cars off than detailing them
