Hi peeps,
I've got a few questions to ask regarding Meg's #83;
1. Is it able to remove key scratches/surface scratches not penetrating to bare metal?
2. Remove Orange peel?
3. Removing wet sanding marks if so what grit?
4. Safe to use on modern soft paint i.e Vauxhall
5. Does it have properties to remove oxidation from 10 year old Mercedes paint?
Please let me know :thumb:

Hi peeps,

You are probably going to need to wet sand first, then polish with a spot pad. But watch the paint thickness. If it's a deep scratch then touch up before wet sanding (once fully dried)
2. Remove Orange peel?
No polishing will effectively remove OP as you are removing paint/laquer from peaks and troughs of the paint. wetsanding will though. Again, watch the paint thickness though
3. Removing wet sanding marks if so what grit?
Yes, easily unless stronger than about 1500grit. Wet sanding marks are generally very light scratches, just lots of them very close together
4. Safe to use on modern soft paint i.e Vauxhall
Very much so
5. Does it have properties to remove oxidation from 10 year old Mercedes paint?
Yes, depending on just how bad it is, it has some reasonable cut to it, but likes to be worked for a while

depends when and how often your gonna need it. i've just been out clearing a few minor swirls on my dads car. final finish just did not want to play today so switched to megs. i do prefer the megs actually. although it takes longer to work i feel its easier to tell when you've worked it enough.

I have used 3.02 very successfully when 83 wouldnt shift the marks, but also really love the way 80 works and finishes - all with my UDM.... I guess its horses for courses.
Will be getting some 106FF and 85RD to try though, as I hear they are more reliable with a DA and if they are as good as the 3.02 they will come in handy :D
