I have owned a HP DV6623 Laptop for 3 months
Just last week a gromit at top left fell out to reveal a screw.
1 day later the case around the corner has cracked.
Called HP to ask what to do and they say its not covered as its not a known fault..WTF!!
So a £700 laptop that starts falling apart is ok???
Anyone else has a Dv6000 series have any issues??

I'd pester them. If it's a known fault they are duty bound to sort it. In fact, by saying that, they've effectively shot themselves in the foot.

Did you buy it direct from HP or from a shop? I've worked with a lot of HP kit for the past 5 years and the quality is always top notch and I've seen some laptops take a real hammering, so this fault is certainly unusual. Go back to the shop you bought if from if it was shop bought.

The casing around the screen generally doesn't just crack after 3 months of its own accord!

You the only person that uses the laptop? As Dean says they are HP kit is prett good and doesn't just fall apart. Strange the gromit just popped off, is not possible someone could have knocked/bashed it, or even stood on it?

If the case cracks round a screw hole that has the rubber gromit in then the case cracking would cause the gromit to fall out.
Return it to the store especially if there are no scuff's or scratches on it to indicate misstreating. the store is responsible under the sales of goods act not the manufacturer so stop speaking to HP.
My laptop developed a crack and when it went if for some warrenty work the case was replaced without me asking for it to be done. it wasnt a HP btw.
