A strange one

Morning chaps,Ive got a question I'm hoping someone can answer for me.
Sometimes,randomly,like this morning for example,my pc will load bios then say "The system has failed to boot several times" something about loading default bios or F2 to alter boot settings.
The thing is though,its been off since 11 lastnight!
Anyone any ideas?
I'd be most grateful.

Quite possibly the battery on the motherboard has failed to hold its charge long enough to save the settings.

How old is the machine? Is it self build or branded?

If poss, take the lid off, and look on the motherboard for a watch type disk battery. Should be able to get one from maplin/local market for a £1

Cheers fella,its a few years old.Bought it off a work mate,its a decent old bus.
I hope it is just a battery,Ive been alittle worried tbh.
