iPod/iPhone Web browsing problem

Hi, I have a 32Gb Ipod touch, it is fantastic and so on, but I currently have a problem with web browsing. When I try and browse the web, after about 2 mins safari cuts out and takes me to my main menu!
Wondering if anyone else has this problem, or knows of any fixes!

I've got the same issue on my iPhone - have had since it was released. It's an issue, which everyone knows about but should hopefully be fixed with software update 2, in July.

Mine doesn't crash after 2 mins - it's random, but normally when browsing DW, when there are lots of pics.

MobileSafari is crashing. This can be caused when you go to a particular website 'it does not like'. The iPod Touch runs Leopard. The OS does not crash, but applications do.

You can hold down the power button to force a restart, which may clear the problem.

or, you can restore the software on the device according to the Apple Website instructions. This involves some fancy fingerwork with the 2 buttons to get the device into recovery mode.

The final alternative is to go back one software version. This means losing features, so I shall not describe it.

New software is due out on 11th July for about 10 GBP, so if it contains MobileSafari 4 you will be better off.

forcing a restart doesn't clear the problem, have tried that, so maybe restoring the software will! Worth a go!
I hate the way apple think its ok to charge for software updates! In my opinion its not, a customer pays a high premium for a device which includes software, they expect to be able to get updates for the software free of charge!

Only got the touch as It was 175 in duty free, only really wanted a classic! Not enough storage in the iphone for me! Only found out about all this software stuff after buying! Thats what I get for impuse buying though!
