sorry to hear about your father.

on a lcd related note, dont use mr sheen etc or glass cleaner to clean the screen.what you need is either warm water on a lint free cloth (just a small amount of water will do) or some lcd cleaning spray (warm water does just a good a job imho) and that black piano gloss case looks great but shows up finger prints like a bugger and is extremely reflective.

oh and you will probably notice the tv settings will need tweaking once the screen has warmed up (i must have changed my lcd settings about 10 times before being happy with it) i know my lcd picture "seems" to be better when it was warmed up.if your happy with your settings now, write them all down and that way you have a base to go back to if your not happy after tweaking to new settings etc.

how do you have it all set-up (hdmi`s etc) and what equipment are you feeding into (im crap at car business but love my home cinema stuff) and most of all, enjoy the tv :thumb:

I've heard the Blu-Ray on the PS3 is still one of the best kicking about for the money.. plus Sky are meant to be dropping the extra £10 a month charge for HD :thumb:

Wonder if this is a response to the appearance of Freesat HD?

Graham

i have a ps3 myself (standalone players are to expensive and there final firmware is still a bit iffy) the ps3 is very flexable as a gaming/movie machine and is a much quieter console than the xbox 360.i don't know whether it matters to you (it does to me as i like to get the best possible version of a film and get it earlier if possible) but i imported my ps3 from America, all the games are region free (so you can buy your games from tesco) but the movies are locked to region one (it seems to be disney and fox who lock there films) here is a link to what films are region free http://bluray.liesinc.net/index.php?region=b
like i said,if your not really interested in movies (some films from America are on dvd/bluray before we even get them at the cinema,or have much better extras like blade runner which is a 5 disc spectacular in America yet the European blu ray is only a ****ty 2 disc event) you might be better off just getting an English ps3. but it is a little more work and you do have to check whether you can watch some films from Europe on an American player.

this is where i got my ps3 from http://www.videogamesplus.ca/product_info.php?cPath=486_488&products_id=13559
and delivery takes about 3 days from canada.i would also advise you to buy a ps3 remote as skipping chapters etc with a pad is a bit naff to be honest.if you have any questions just PM me or post here.here is a link to the current offers on at amazon http://www.amazon.com/b/ref=amb_link_5142562_1?ie=UTF8&node=193640011&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_s=right-3&pf_rd_r=0RXVX9W7MPGH3AYB0GYW&pf_rd_t=101&pf_rd_p=399036901&pf_rd_i=507846you will find most prices are about £11 with the slowest method of shipping and if you break your discs down to 2 an order you wont get hit by customs for import duty.i bought 3 discs and order them with expedited shipping and had to pay £12.50 import duty on a bloody package that cost £21 :censored:

i think your right and i think i would rather pay the £250 for a one off fee then have my trousers pulled down by sky every month for another £10 for a handfull of hd channels.untill skys channels are predominantly hd i wouldnt pay another 10 a month (imo) as it is now i already have £52 a month going to them (which they like to throw an extra 2 quid a year onto your bill for something ridiculous like sky one 4+1 lol) but thats another arguement.as far as i know you need a dish on the side of your house to pick up the freesat so it is a little different than standard freeview which is happy to use an outdoor aerial.
