XP Wont Recognise My Digi Cam

Right I am having to use a PC whilst my iMac gets fixed :mad:

Basically I plug in my Panasonic DMC-FX55 Digital Camera and it just wont install properly. I cannot find any drivers as XP 'should' just recognise it and work!

Any thoughts?

Is the camera turned on, once you've connected it?

Yep it is turned on and I get an error message saying it cannot install the driver properly - the wizard cannot find the necessary software! There is no software on the CD for it either (well only for Win 98).

check this thread, seems others have had problems, ignore all the stuff at the top you don't need to join just scroll nearly to the bottom to see the answers, although i didn't spot a resolution.

Alternatively would it be easier to use a card reader, and just take the pictures off the memory card directly? Like this one

I'm also using a Dell - still wont work though and its only temp so dont want to buy anything.
