I'm looking to get Sky in the next couple of months, when money is a little less tight. As I start working as a 'teacher' in Sept for a years work placement! Had Sky for a year at Uni and decided if i'm going to be at home for a year, then Sky is an essential for my Sports needs.

Just wondering what sort of deals are about?? Probably going to get Sky+ for my room (still living with parents) maybe they will have a standard box downstairs with that multiroom gubbins.

If there are no deals a proper going, there usually are some refer a friend deals and you all get some gear. As I have no friends on Sky, I would be willing to throw this deal open to a DW Member and share the rewards that are about. In the last year i've seen Sky+ boxes, vouchers and all sorts going on.

Also best to go on sky website and use the little IM thing as I ended up with a very good deal doing a bit of negotiations with the person I was speaking to.

Just got a great deal. There was a door to door Sky lady coming round today, and had her in. Got myself a free Sky+ box, free standard box for multi room, just had to pay £30 installation.

Gone for all mixes except Style and Culture, didnt really fancy the Africa Channel and UK Style!! Also got Sports 1+2 package. No movies, but if a good un comes up I can put it on for an extra £1 a month, record all the movies I want, then cancel the next month!

Just a quick note, if you plus them then cancel the Movies sub you wont be able to play them at a later date IIRC

I asked the woman about that and she said that you can record Box Office and Movies, as they dont have the right to go in your box and delete stuff you have already recorded.

She admitted being fairly new to the company, so i'll probably ask the engineer who comes to install on Tuesday or AV Forums.

The subscription is checked when you try to watch them. Fair enough they are not entitled to delete them from your box but you still can't watch them.
