Washing in the rain,, any point??

First post on detailing world after lurking for many years..

It's raining here in Broadway and my new black Focus ST is minging.. It doesn't look like it going to stop until tomorrow.

Am I best just leaving it, or are there any secrets and tips for washing in the rain?

Getting wet doesn't bother me.. What would you guys do??

Matt

Best thing washing in the rain, goes so much quicker, doesn’t dry up in between panels.
The dirt is already soaked, give it a decent prewar, wash it and dry the the insides of the door apertures.
Job is a goodun.
No need to dry, no worries about watermarks, live doesn’t come easier than that.

Just washed mine and it’s p#**ing down here, just washed it as I normally do if anything it’s easier doing it the rain.

Sky rain = car washed?

Sort of, but the car rarely looks better after a rain shower, just wandered if there were any tricks to get the best from it.

It does if it's clean and beading nicely!

As already mentioned, rain water does not contain the mineral deposits found in tap water that stay on the surface when the water evaporates, so it doesn’t leave water spots. Most of the dirt you see on a car after a shower is either splashed up from driving on wet roads or it was already on the car to begin with and has been loosened but not fully rinsed off by the rain. Having said that, there is clean rain and there is dirty rain but then again, washing a car will never make it dirtier than it already is.
