Suggestions...

I'm still a complete novice when it comes to detailing and proper cleaning so need some advice from anyone willing to help!

I would be extremely grateful if you could put down a list of products I would need if I was going to do some in depth detailing. I will get onto Machine Polishing products eventually, but for now, just the general products used from the foam/wash stage right through claying to drying and sealing.

If you could put down what you use, would recommend I would be grateful!

I just need to work out what to budget when I start shopping and what I should be getting!

Thanks in advance for any help given :)

Anybody??....

This question tends to get asked alot, hence you may not get many replies. Its kinda like how long is a piece of string

A good place to start would be having a look at the few of the threads in the Showroom and/or Studio. People general list the products that they use for a particular detail and this will give you a good idea of the popular brands and products.

Welcome to the Forum

This is what I bought when I started, althought the slope has been long and slippery since then

http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/foru...d.php?t=203031

Valet Pro - Orange Pre Wash (to be used with pressure sprayer from garden centre most probably)
Bilberry Wheel Cleaner (1 litre)
Dodo Juice - Born to be mild shampoo 250ml
Meguiars Lambswool Wash Mitt
EZ Detail Brush
1-inch round Wheel and Detail brush
Miracle Dryer - Ultra Plush 25" x 36"
FinishKare #425 - Ultraslick polywipe (relpaces Megs QD)
Sonus Ultra Fine Detailing Clay pkg/2
Autoglym - Super Resin Polish - (applying by hand)

Autoglym - Extra Gloss Protection
Collinite No. 476S - Super Doublecoat Auto Wax
Autogylm - Car Glass Polish
Autoglym - Fast Glass
Plush Buffing Cloth 16" x 16" (x 2)

Autoglym - Perfect Polishing Cloths
Ultimate German Applicator (x 2)
Foam Wax Applicator (x 2)
600ml Plastic Bottle with Sprayer (x 3)

That's not a bad start mate... Stuff in bold is the stuff I use regularly/know I will use.

I've bought a shed load more since then... and maybe theres a few things I'd have left out like the Autogylm EGP (still unused).

Could also get some wolfs deironizer instead of bilberry, as that would cover wheel cleaning and iron contamination on paint.

Also, I'd probably just get some tardis instead of Valet Pro tar and glue, as that works a bit slowly for me.

FK1000 instead of collinite might also be a strong move, as that can be used on wheels too.

Alternatively, all you could've asked for: http://www.seriousperformance.co.uk/...View_805.html#

Thanks for your reply :) I assumed it was asked a lot but I am rubbish when it comes to using searches on forums.

I will check out as many threads in those sections as possible and get a list together :)

That is also true, and how I went about compiling that list which I then received comment on. There's no one ideal list, so take a look around and see what you think might work for you.
