No, ceramic coatings will not fill in swirls you need to remove them before application and use a panel wipe to remove all traces of polishing oils, fillers etc before application.

No it will be fine just wash it. With clear coat paint you are removing paint anyway its just clear.

I only ever sand by hand, when using a machine you can't feel if you have a piece of grit under the pad as you can doing it by hand, it takes longer but you get a better finish.

If you can get hold of a paint guage measure the depth and you will know for sure that the door has been painted. As above a green hex pad is a bit harsh to use as a finishing pad.

@E60525d Just a couple of things, you don't need to spray QD onto the pad when you're polishing the oils in the polish are there to lubrucate just make sure you have primed the pad correctly first....
