To apply each month won't do any harm as such but I don't ever wax the car without fully decontaminating the paintwork beforehand so it would becomes lengthy task and not one I'd perform...

Butter wax yes, I agree, is a panel by panel wax, I wouldn't go round the full car before buffing but I'm honestly surprised you've found any issues at all with 1-2-1 as it's one of the easiest waxes...

Both of these you can do a whole car before buffing, super easy on/off and epic finish, great water/dirt repellancy, bead and sheet really well...

FK1000P is a paste sealant, extremely versatile can be used on paintwork, glass, wheels etc, always good to have in your arsenal, being a sealant it gives a colder, sharper finish, add a wax on top...

I would say it largely depends on how bad the marring is and how much cut you want to achieve

Starting out with your DA you'll probably look to get a polish which can cut and refine in one stage...
