Repairing sheared studs isn't hard, you just need the correct kit. Stud welders aren't all that common but someone, somewhere local to you will be able to do...

Andy, not quite. The carpets I think are the same as the GTi6 ones. Quite heavy weight and thick foam backed......the Rallye was lighter than its GTi6 brother but not in the carpets I don't think.......

Did a bit more to the Rallye today. Since finding what i found previously, its becoming more obvious the dash needs to come out. But for now, it was about removing the passenger seat and carpets.
