Seeing as I want to upgrade to a 306 GTI gearbox in the future I set to modifying the passenger side chassis leg as it needs more clearance than the original gearbox.
The 306 gearbox is 9kg heavier...

Didn't manage to put as many hours as I would have liked in the past two weeks due to other work related commitments but I've been applying the Deox almost daily at the bottom of the front wishbone...

Looking good,did you invest in a belt sander yet? 12mm width with something like 80 grit works nicely to grind down the welds,angle grinder has far too much coverage,when welding a replacement panel...

Not much interesting if no pics of the underside,front arches etc,nowadays all have some rust lurking,never know what to expect so better be safe,just my opinion though.

Probably overkill to weld all around but this is the side where the engine mounts to so needs to be up...

The Electrox needs bare metal to work really,the zinc needs to be in contact with the bare surface,a 40 Grit key would suffice.

Correct on the ratio but I would be careful about...

I use Upol slow drying panel wipe then wipe it off shortly after with a microfiber cloth,sometime...
