It can be repaired but will never be perfect without a respray. I've had a similar ding on an old 1 series, also in white, and managed to make a pretty good job of it using a Chipex repair kit.

You want the sponge to take up the ONR and dispense it - see how the BRS does it in the various vids. Personally I wouldn't use the PVA sponge listed in the OP as it looks like the smooth surface...

I carry a spray bottle of ONR diluted as a QD in the boot specifically to clean bird bombs. Simple spray and soak a piece of kitchen towel and let it sit on the poop for a minute or two...

Not really, it wont produce any foam, however you can use BH Auto Foam in it and use it as a pre-wash and it will be just as effective.

I also don't agree that the G3 mitt is atrocious quality or cheap, £15 is around the going rate for a decent clay mitt, the TAC mitt isn't that more expensive and the TAC cloth, whilst being a tenner...
