Am surprised that D300 and the MF cutting pad removed so much clear coat:doublesho but saying that it was on soft paint, so maybe that was the cause.

Menzerna 3800 is a very fine finishing polish (jeweling)
Menzerna 2500 is a polish usually used for intermediate paints (soft to medium)

It's not clear coat failure because you'll see tons of straight line cracks in every direction.

Don't use the black pad with S3 gold:wall: it has no cutting power to break down the abrasives in the compound :thumb: if you are using the the pad I suggest you use it with S40 finishing polish...
