I had some etched on (along with a hand print)...

I had some etched on (along with a hand print) when I bought my car. T-Cut by hand easily removed both, then followed with SRP to finish it off.

You'll get no real correction from hand polishing...

You'll get no real correction from hand polishing (I know I've tried). Your best bet would be something with good filling properties like SRP.
