Right guys got a replacement bonnet for my GTi as the current one is dented. The paint on the replacement is really good and no dents so plan was to just sand with 600 grit, base and clear.

Ive been using my das6. What interface pad and discs are you using. Im using 3m 1500 purple discs and some orion 3000 grit but the orions are no good. I need to get some trizact 3k discs.

Wool pads are aggressive so leave their own holograms. I use them on rotary. They dont heat up plastics as much as foam so are good for bad bumpers. Also they last a looong time and dont break down...

Where to get Meguiars (nikken) 3000 grit papers?

As title, run out of my 3000 grit sheets and to me these were the best. Tried the starke ones but they just dont last as long or leave as fine a sanding mark.

Go to a bodyshop or auto paints shop and ask them for some panel wipe. It completely cleans the surface prior to painting so its perfect prior to a coating.
