56k Icon Gleammachine vs Porsche Cayenne II

Another gruelling 2 day detail over thurs and friday on a 04' Porsche Cayenne that was booked after one of the european members on DW had viewed and contacted his friend who has an almost identical one. (Pic Heavy)

Befores

First job was to apply a strong citrus pre-wash and clean the shuts and alloys using various brushes.

Then foamed with DG901 and washed via the TBM with the same solution,

Once rinsed Tardis applied to lower areas and left to do its magic and removed then straight to Zaino clay and L/touch, it then became apparent that there was a large amount of brown paint spots over the entire vehicle including the front inner rim and caliper,

Great British Weather.

Front alloy was taken of to see if I could remove some of the visible paint from the inner rim and caliper,

Before

After (not perfect but improved)

Defects

Paint was reading healthy figures averaging 120 um so tried to reduce some of the deeper scratches by flattening down with 2000 w&d followed by 2500 and still maintain a safe level of paint to correct,

Combination chose was 3M Fast cut+ with a little Ultrafina on a Visomax pad,

50/50 after one set of passes,

Completed the entire vehicle with the same method and then followed up with a mix of ultrafina and extra fine compound on a 3M blue pad,

8.00 PM and the polishing complete for day 1,

Day 2

9.00 AM start and pulled the car out of the garage and inspected again and wasn't 100% happy with the gloss and depth as I had been the evening before so re-polished with Menzarna 106FA on a megs yellow pad,

Flake after the final polishing stage,

IPA wipe down to remove any oils and cleared up any residues and dust then dressed the arches, tyres and trim,
Then set about the interior with carpets and mats shampooed with the extractor, trim and leather cleaned and feed applied,

Interior afters

SV Best of Show applied and left for an hour to cure before removing,
Alloys sealed with Poorboys wheel sealant,
Glass cleaned throughout with SV Cristal,
Exhausts cleaned up with P21s polishing soap,
Gummi Pledge to the rubber trim,

Final wipe down before the customer collection with Zaino Z8,

Results
