Firstly, I love this picture, it's great to see such an eclectic mix of cars and as a fellow Mini owner it's great to see another thread on one.
Back in early 2003 I was due my first company car and working for BT at the time they had an arrangement whereby I could test drive anything on the list for 48 hours. One of those cars was a Mini Cooper S which had a panoramic roof. It was my first experience of one (only normal sunroofs up to that point) and it wasn't a positive one. It squeaked when shut and was very noisy when open with lots of boom and it put me off them. As a result, when I looked for my Mini earlier this year I discounted a number of cars because they were equipped with the panoramic roof and actively sought out one that didn't have it. Different strokes for different folks I guess.
The 2002-2004 mini ONE's and coopers have a fairly weak midlands gearbox
its basically a modified citroen ax gearbox lol
Oil changes are very important, my car is on it's 3rd gearbox and the current ne is slightly noisy, so in an effort to make it last as long as possible i have changed the oil...
I think it was a good idea YUCK!
I replaced it with MTF94 and also added a forte gearbox additive.
the changes are much smoother and the gearbox has gotten quieter.
