Snow foam lance confusion

Happy new year everyone.

Ok so today I decided I would workout the flow rate of both my autobright snowfoam lance,s as I have two the old type and the new type that stands on its own in order to meet the 4% pir of bilt hamber autofoam.
So filled both lances with 1lt of water and discharged in to a bucket till each lance was empty using my karcher k4 so same machine used with both lances now with the old lance I got 9.6lt so would need 384ml of foam to water to make 4% now the new lance I got 13.45lt so would need 538ml of foam to water to make 4%.

Now I'm not sure where the difference is coming from I know one lance is older then the other but is this really going to make a difference.

Did you have have the dilution knob on both lances set in the same position, ie, all the way closed?

BTW is there much difference between the 2 lances other than the bottle now used?

So the old lance it picking up the solution a lot quicker than the new one but having done the 4% calc whats the issue?

With Autofoam, as long as the car is wetted by the 4% solution then it's job done even if you have half a bottle of solution left

I guess the lance draws up the solution using a venturi and no doubt the older design is better but more costly to manufacture

Like everything, the accountants and bean counters make everything worse except the profit but at what cost???
