Mohs application query

Hello all,

Had my new car almost three weeks now and have got some indoor space for four days next week, i am looking to correct the paint on the car and apply Mohs,
The space i'm doing it has no heating etc and with this cold snap is it too cold to apply Mohs? I understand i have to leave it 24hrs to dry will this be more in the current temperatures?

Any help greatly appreciated

Most manufacturers recommend applying no lower than 5c. I think under this it doesn't bond correctly. Seen as you have to do 2 coats of mohs if the temperature ain't right I would wait. It might apply ok but compromise longevity

When you say it has no heating, could you not get an electric fan heater and plug that in?
In a small insulated indoor space that could easily knock the temp up to a decent working level.

Would help loads

Unfortunately you will compromise the application due to the temperature and more importantly the humidity just now and this will result in decreased durability. Coatings like this don’t like moisture in the air. If you breath on a panel and it condenses then it is too cold.

If you could borrow an infrared heater you could perhaps do a panel at a time although this would be a slow process.

Coatings are expensive to purchase and will need to machine polished off if anything goes wrong so I’d probably wait a few weeks at least and see how the weather, and the temperature, picks up.

Exactly as Alan said.
4'C along with high humidity aren't perfect conditions. I would rather wait for stable 15'C and lower humidity.
