I miss watching a movie and thinking 'This is original', now seems to be the same old, same old, rehash of previously better movies.

Floppy Disks.
Dot Matrix Printers.
Inkjet Printer (have a colour laser now).

On a lighter note, I miss no bills and Santa Claus.

Some good ones, thanks. Others that spring to mind.

The sound of a dial-up modem connecting to the internet.
32" CRT TVs that needed 4 people to pick up
Betamax video recorders
A separate hot and a cold tap instead of one mixer.
Newspapers
Milk bottles
Watneys party pack beer/Amarillo draught sherry

I don't have a cd player, dvd or blu ray anymore, I just stream everything. Don't have a desktop pc either, I have a works laptop but always use my phone for the internet. Don't have an alarm clock.

All this talk about stacker hifi makes me feel distinctly old here:

I still have and my play LPs.

My turntable is a 1960s Garrard 401 with an old SME arm (in a plinth I made myself), transformers and valve phono stage through a valve amp.

My speakers are pair of Tannoy Golds from a pair of early Tannoy Lancasters but in new cabinets with decent crossovers...and I play my cassettes through an old Nakamichi deck. I never replaced my CD player when it broke.

I probably spend more money on record cleaning fluid than on hifi these days, although once in a while I need new valves. According to my wife, I've already bought enough cartridges to see me out...

Talk about getting your money's worth.

Peter
