Smile Advice please on 1 & 2 Stage DA paint enhancement

Hi Everyone.....I must say this is a wonderful forum

This is my first post on here ( novice ),and was wondering if you pro's out there can offer me any advice on pad and compound mix for 1 - 2 stage DA polishing.

I'm about to purchase a Flex XC 3401 VRG...

I was thinking of using the following on a 1 stage;

Sonax 04-06 compound and a Yellow Rupes pad

2 stage;

Cut: Rupes UHS compound and Pad & finish with a mix of 75% yellow 3M and 25% Blue on a white Rupes Pad.

If anyone can offer me any advice on the above it would be greatly appreciated.

Many thanks in advance

Depends what sort of motor.
Always use the lightest combo you can and if you don't get the results step it up a stage until you do.
There is no magic answer to your question in afraid to say

As AllenF says, there's no magic formula! Start light and soft then harder if necessary.

BUT i would try to get a versatile product and use it with different pads - different cut and purpose.
say M205.

I agree. The sonax is a great one stepper, but fails a bit on hard paints. If you bought a bottle of M101 and a bottle of M205 you would get most cars done, just change pad choice. You can still use the likes of sonax, BUT with these 2 extra bottles you have many more possibilities

Thanks so much everyone for your invaluable advice....never used the Meguires stuff before.....can you please give me honest opinion on the 101 and 205?

Could you use the M205 as a one step? would it be better than the Sonax 04-06?

Are the 2 Meguires products diminishing?

Sorry for so many additional questions
