Oh ok no where near me, I'm on top of Reigate hill near junction 8 on the m25 and we always seem to get hit with snow.

Not a million miles away....

This is the warning on the impending snow....

Rain moving eastwards across the south of the UK on Thursday may turn to snow in places.

Whilst this is unlikely, there is a small chance of snow settling with disruption to road, rail and air services as well as interruptions to power supplies and other utilities. Associated heavy rain and strong winds may prove additional hazards. If the area of heavy rain moves further north, this would pull cold air into the system and bring snow to parts of southern England and south Wales. At the same time heavy rain will likely persist in some areas along with the potential for some locally strong winds. The public is advised to take extra care, further information and advice can be found here: http://www.metoffice.gov.uk/public/weather/warnings/

Hot sun does, if left unprotected. I have a friend in Spain and many cars there have peeling paint due to no care and attention and being left out in the hot summer sun.

Snow ice etc. No

I suppose the answer is to always make sure you have a good layer of protection on the car, especially in winter.
I always have a couple of layers of Collinite 476 on mine that way the ice and snow are not actually in contact with the paint.

Would this be any good for drying the paint after washing with 2BM, to leave it ready for waxing ?
