Thanks everyone for the input, I have gone for a new tyre. Reluctantly I am booked in at my local main dealer as I couldn't find anywhere with the tyre in stock. Tried most of the big nationals and Costco said it would be a month before they had one (Bridgestone potenza s001 run flat 225 40 r19 89y) so paying an extra 13.50 over blackcircles for piece of mind. Would have liked to swapped them for non run flats but can't afford it at the moment.

The Bridgestone S001 tyre is really pretty good for a runflat. Much better ride than the Bridgestone RE050 if not quite as much ultimate grip. If it's any consolation I had a near identical puncture on mine and replaced the tyre too.

The 19" runflats are also cheaper now than they used to be - c£200 now which is about £40 less than I could get them for my last car.

That tyre is almost like harry hills head, for what's left in it mileage wise mind as change it anyway.

http://www.etyres.co.uk/repairable-area-gauge/

Print off the gauge following the instructions and see for yourself.

It looks to be in the area approaching the side wall so may not be repairable but use the gauge.
