So. Here is something new to my personal collection.
A new car, a new colour. A new project, but nothing like my other projects I guess.

It is an Audi, once again. an A1 Sportback, 1,6 TDi.

Optional extras were:

-bi-xenon
-led tailights
-black interior headliner
-fog lights
-leather 3-spoke steering wheel
-leather handbrake and gear boot
-steering wheel controllers for audi multimedia
-Audi multimedia system [navi, bluetooth, etc etc]
-electronic clima system
-armrest
-parktronic system
-7,5x17 wheels
-sport seats
-cruise control system

Not bad listing for a daily I think.

So here it is when I collected it two days ago.

Audi Dealership Delivery-Room

First meeting with the Golf

I introduced one to the other.

My other Audi, the blue one, was not there to talk with them

They went out for a ride together

Not a bad wheel to begin with - Needs more lowz- I know

Some quick shots of the interior

Love the lines

Hello diesel power, first time in my garage

First thing I did after getting to know the car, which gives the feeling of a much bigger Audi to be honest, in terms of quality, I did this

No giving heads up for dealerships from me

Much better

Will propably also debadge the rear for a cleaner look

Dont know if you noticed, but car is equipped with some stripes from factory. At first I was like, I will remove them, but they are rather discreet to be honest, matte ones, and will see.

While I was there, I noticed that my THULE roof rack was over the car.
Just saying, hehe.

Cheers guys :)

Rears first

Rears almost done

Hood access for the fronts

Before

And after

Car touched down

And went for alignment

So, Height Before

And after

Yes, now we are talking :) There is room for going even lower, will propably leave that for later, that I have some other plans, hehe.

Cheers for now, hope you like it

Not sure if I have written it in here. But one thing that has bothered me since day one, that i got the car, even from the dealership, is the red colour of the vents in the interior. I guess I am more of a subtle guy, and that much red really hurt my eyes to be honest. Seemed kinda cheap for my tastes.

So. I had to do something about that as you can tell.
I was thinking either piano black vents, or chrome/alu ones.
Decided to go for the piano black ones.

Removed the red ones.

Only tools I used are my hands to be honest.
Despite the ELSA, and some youtube tutorials saying I need some special tools.

Red ones are already for sale over at ebay. Listing [301572869279]

Time to install the black ones

Happy me

Before

and after

So that's done. Happy with it :D :D

Cheers guys

So what do you know. I have some updates for the AUD1ESEL. I already love this car, and it is becoming more and more mine every day :D

Tint time -

Again went for the 3M CS-35, like I have in all my other cars, and in the family cars as well, throughout the years

Classical protection for the window switches for a couple of days LoL

Driver side on

Some exterior shots

Dat Logo Doe

Another thing I did, is that I decided to tackle the footrest issue.
I had to find a way to make it work

Took some measurements

And I made it happen

So here is a big update for the little AUD1ESEL

Came to the garage one day to find one seat missing . . .

Then this happened

Out of nowhere

Dont worry, I was just checking something

Hmmmm

LoL on the Golf

Then changed back everything the way it was

Next to this, i still prefer mine

Then, let's move to the interior

I like how these climate controls look

This does not suit them

New boxes from stealership

Yummy parts

Let's remove the stock one

Out

in it went

porn

Tools needed

Turned out great

More to come, to bring you up to date

Nice Euro look I'd say - reminds me of days gone by when some countries insisted on Yellow lights.

Certainly something different!

So, I dont recall if I had told you about it, but I kinda ordered a new front grill for my AUD1ESEL project. An aftermarket "RS1" grill in gloss black from Germany, which arrived some days before.

Definitely not cheap, but quality was super good to be honest.

Lost no time, and decided to go for it on my own, after work

Bumper came off, dont mind the headlight, i thought it needed to be removed, whereas it didnt. Although there is a DIY online, I wanted to go for it on my own, weird right

Sit back and enjoy

Two grilles side by side - and the usual aftermath of garage work, lol

OEM grille removed

New Grille on

Thought the Oem crashbar would look ugly in silver behind the grille, so I removed it. Dont worry just to paint it.

Done

ReInstalled

Installed everything back on - minus the Audi rings which were smaller in the A1 and did not fit

I then got a new Audi badge from dealership, which is slightly bigger, and comes from the A6-A7-A8-RS6-RS7 etc.

It was then ready

The grille also had the mounting thing for the license plate - but look at it

So I thought I'd make a vinyl plate, to go right here

So I did

Looks really good now, and legal-ish LoL

Sorry for the iphone pics - but I didnt have my camera with me at the time

Cheers

Lovely car Doc, I did see the matt stripes - at first I thought it was some sort of roof reflection but looking closer I saw. I have sub'd to see what you get up to with this!

Love the red body with the black roof:argie:. If i'm being honest I would remove the matt stripes, just my opinion though, Terrific little car :thumb:
