Indeed.

Wheels are currently primed and about to be put into silver.

Sounds like you found just the right place to sort the wheels out

But my goodness, what a mess they were in for 12 years old

Lol - 12 years on the road, dozens of tyre changes, probably little looking after and several bad refurbs, it was amazing they were in that good a shape!

New (to me) Lexus GS450h

Just picked up the wheels.

The guys have had some job. It’s even had multiple extra coats of lacquer after baking to ensure the new trims will bolt flush to the surface.

Almost every chrome trim bolt hole had been snapped off on the outside edge of the wheel due to corrosion or bad refurbs in the past and EVERY chrome trim was bonded in place with Gorilla glue so took ages to remove.

All of the trims are now fully removable now with a 10mm bolt and no glue in sight!

Here were the wheels after being colour coated and lacquered:

And one after rebuild, tyre and trims:

And a couple of terrible in the dark shots:

The guys have done a fabulous job and they have brought some wheels back from the dead when other places have given up before, or done a poor botch up as was apparent.

Good work Ecosse Powder Coating

If I get really fussy with the chrome trims not being perfect (unlikely) then the powder coaters recommended using a chrome wrap as I can now easily remove the bolts and take the trims off.

Glad they kept at it - it will make a big difference to keeping the car looking good for the next 3 years or so.

Will be great to get some of the other small jobs done on it over the winter and then next spring, after it is serviced again, get it into Preserve and Protect that it was ALMOST into in the summer (but I bought the other car instead) and get the full underside stripped, rust treated and Dinitrol treated inside and out to keep it going for a long time yet (pending any massive costly repairs that scrap it).

28 months and 40,000 miles in, it’s still a superb car that I enjoy driving every time.

I also currently have zero TPMS warning lights on, in spite of one being in the bin!!

After 20 miles of driving I would have thought it would appear - but only a matter of time!

Luckily I have the OBD cable and Techstream software so I can get the existing 3 working valve codes and code them alongside a new one I will need to buy/get fitted too.
