Bought a New car RS

Soooo time came after 4 years of ownership the Focus ST has been sold and I've bought what I'd say is one of the nicer mark 1 Focus RS's avaliable

It is highly modified and has just had a full respray and wheel and brake refurb, it really is clean and needs nothing

Its running a GT28 turbo and lots of other engine mods to bring it up to 300+bhp, it handles like its on rails with the coil over suspension and full poly bushes and strut braces

Initially I thought I'd be sad when the ST went but now I've bought the RS I realise it was the right thing to do as although the ST was 400bhp and on paper the RS should be slower it certainly doesn't feel that way

I've got plans for the RS, as you will see the engine bay is full of chrome pieces which aren't to my taste so those are coming off to be powder coated black and the intercooler will be getting a mesh grill and the lettering changed to the same colour as the car so its more subtle

anyway here's some pics

No lag trust me, put your foot down and she hitches her skirt up and she's off and its only 300 because above that you need to forge them so its turned down to preserve the pistons and rods

Remember these are a hell of a lot lighter than the new ST's and Vauxhalls so power to weight is pretty high

The wheels are a grey pearl colour so change to black and all sorts in the sun

The filter is comical but it sounds brilliant 😂

Looks really tidy!

Like the orange pipework; tempted to go that way with mine rather than the current debatable blue/red mix!

If it's the sort of thing that bothers you, think that's a mk2 RS badge on the front grill.

There's a good community on facebook for our cars... imperial blue RS owners

I didn't even notice the badge so that'll be changed 😢

I wasn't sure on the orange but it's grown on me as it really does add to the plain engine bay and with the huge filter it's not exactly inconspicuous anyway 😂

I had red and black for a while on the ST

I've just joined that page on Facebook does look like a good bunch and a couple of ex ST owners and people I've bought ST parts from
