Looks great' you are lucky with a 12 week wait - I have a GTE on order and they are currently at 27 weeks waiting for orders placed now!

I couldn't find one in your colour to look at before ordering so went for standard white. How easy are the alloys to clean, as I have identical style ones coming on mine - worried that the black will scratch easily?

Yeah, they seem pretty easy. Bit fiddly in the bits between the spokes but a good soft brush should help there, along with sealing them properly should make long term maintenance easier.

The black seems pretty robust. I'll know more next weekend when I take them off to to seal them properly.

It rained this morning so I was interested to see the water behaviour with the Orchard stuff having been applied.

I wasn't disappointed. The beads are pretty small and tight but also tall!

So,

11 days in.....

Yep, I've done almost 1300 miles in 11 days and I love the car. Couple of issues thus far. When playing any music from my phone via Bluetooth, the stereo keeps muting every 5 seconds or so, especially when playing a YouTube video. Clearance after a bit but not great. Economy isnt brilliant in comparison to the test car. Can get 53 on the work run as opposed to 60. Heated screen option buried deep in touch screen menu options but I can live with that....

Economy will improve. I had a noticable increase around the 9000 mile mark IIRC on my GTD.

Bit of an update for the Golf.....

Just over 8 weeks in, mileage is at 6300 so im racking it up but that was expected. Long term economy is showing at just shy of 48mpg but the counter reset it's self 1500 miles ago for reasons unknown....not uncommon by all accounts. Needs to go back into VW for a software update on the Multimedia system as the muting thing continues but seems this is a known issue.

Only other other issue is some cretin has scraped the wing mirror. Pretty certain it will polish off but it isn't the point. There really are some morons about and I think it may have been someone who was visiting the offices we rent out at work. I came out to it one day with two cars so close I really struggled to get in. Anyway, pics below, one of which is of the new CC Klin towel I bought. Things a super absorbent, mahoosive beast!

For a second I thought you'd put a great big Carbon Collective sticker on your bonnet lol.

That's a fairly big towel chum. Lol. was it as good as you'd hoped?

The car looks absolutely stunning. Can you check any cameras to see who the culprit is for the mirror scratch?

The towel is epic cooks....as well as being massive, which helps on big panels like the bonnet and the roof, it's incredibly absorbent which was a suprise given how thin it is. However, along with one of their smaller Onyx towels for the low down bits where you risk dragging a bigger towel along the floor, I had the car dried in far less time than it normally takes me. Really impressed with it. If they've any left (they only did 100 of them) at payday, I'll get another.

No, our CCTV is akin to potatoes with cables coming out of them. The cameras have a resolution of about 4 pixels.....it's no bother. I shall start parking like an **** over two spaces again. Not an attitude I like to adopt at all but I'll be along the lines of 'my site, my car, my rules'......

So,

3 months in and I've done 8.5k miles, and that's with a week off work in November and some time of at Christmas......I don't think I will be far out with an estimated of 40k a year!

Had to put a ltr of oil in it last week, dash flagged up a message to check the oil level. I'll keep an eye on that.

Going to get out to it today and get the sealants on. Sun is out and the temps are up enough!!
