Having not been overjoyed with the finish on the rear arches, the painter has agreed it isn't up to scratch and is going to repaint both sides! We have said we'll wait for the rest of the bad weather to pass first, which suits me very well!

Quite happy with the way he took it too especially as it was so cheap...

It made me very happy indeed, should be fine this time as he won't have as much prep work to do! Considering a bumper spray at the same time to tidy it up

A few weeks ago a friend at work asked for a picture of my car, he has just sent me this photo:

It's a belated christmas present!

Car was looking very sorry for itself this morning:

That was addressed with a quick outside clean, extra attention paid to underneath and the wheel arches to ensure that all salt and mud removed...

I had planned to get a few things done today but I helped a friend with cleaning and small tasks on other cars.

I have a few updates that will be coming soon once collected parts are installed and I've had time to sort a few things!

I had new interior trims arrive, I know they won't be to the taste of many as they are hydrodipped carbon. I looked at genuine carbon but it was all marked and I wasn't going to buy it new from BMW this has been covered in ceramic lacquer and I have put 2 coats of crystal serum light on them to protect them.

There is a gold hue to the carbon which I quite like!

I've ordered another replacement headlight for the passenger side, hopefully this one has a reflector that is attached correctly!

Trim looks cracking mate. Can I ask you how much you paid for the dipping. The carbon effect on my doors are proper manky and I need to find a clever solution to tidy them up

I bought the trims already done, it was 265 from the supplier. I couldn't find any dippers within 15 miles so I decided easier to just buy the whole lot already done!

Not a car specific update as such, but I was having a debate with my parents about having an outside tap installed on the front of the house to save me dragging the house through the entire house... We have compromised and we are having one installed in the utilities room (at the front of the house) so I won't have such a task when setting up for car cleaning!

Anyway, now I've got the happiness of that out of the way...

My centre caps I bought have started to peel, disappointing as they were recommended as good quality so some new ones have arrived ready for when I take the wheels off next. I also helped my friend clean another car last week and he had an EZ wheel brush, I was so impressed I've ordered one for myself

Couple of bits done today, firstly after a temporary fix I replaced the passenger headlight for a replacement that functions correctly:
Easy enough to swap out

Then all done

The wet patch is from the washer jet being removed and some leftover screen wash spilling out.

Then a carbon clean was carried out, a little bit of black smoke came out and the car feels slightly less hesitant in 2nd and that's about the difference I've noticed, still not bad for £60

Then I found a new oil leak:

Ordered a replacement cap and gasket for it, one more oil leak solved, not many oil leak spots left to replace now! At least this one is easier than the rest!

Have a long weekend coming up so hopefully a fair few more updates to come along too!
