Very nice project this! Much better than the usual. "Filthy car brought back to life" when it reality it was less than 6 months old with a small layer of dust....

I enjoy these threads as I’d never normally bat an eyelid at such a car, now I find myself compelled to read. Love seeing them improved upon and made mint. Can’t wait for the rest of the thread. I even love the Lexus thread again another car I wouldn’t look at but here I am flitting between detailing world and autotrader

Toyota Avensis T27 Tourer Project

Good on you

Will get both threads updated tomorrow.

Avensis really coming along and did a job today on the Lexus (other than adding another 250 miles onto it tonight going to work and back)

Sorry, I've joined the party rather late!

Had a 51 plate 2.0 litre petrol Avensis hatchback which was a great & incredibly reliable car.

It's a car that seems to slip under the radar alongside Mondeo/Vectra/Passat/A4 etc. which makes for some very sensible buying options.

Only changed for the Mazda 2 you'll see on here when didn't need that size of car any more.

Loving reading & seeing how you're turning her around.

Respect.

Good Luck.

Andy.

PS The puppy is so beautiful . Enjoy

Tell me a bit about your avensis? I had a super ‘97 P reg Toyota Carina E which was brilliant in every way. Did 100,000 miles in that and sold it to buy a new Avensis on a 52 plate. Kept that for 8 months before buying what I should have bought and wanted - a Subaru Impreza WRX, my first of 4 Subaru’s.

Toyota Avensis T27 Tourer Project

Ok - update time!

Started on the inside as that’s the main place I will be - and it’s filthy and stinks of dog and old car!!

Started behind the drivers seat on that side - you get the idea and can see bits of foam as the drivers seat bottom/bolster is probably falling apart inside - a future job.

Some in progress shots

Of course, my helper was working with me

Cleaned the fuel flap inside in passing, which came up well

And had a rummage under the arch - going to need some work when I start on the outside!
